Yawn (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a sleep tracking application. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address for authentication and account management.

Sleep & Health Data

With your explicit permission, Yawn reads sleep data from Apple HealthKit (iOS) or Health Connect (Android). This includes bedtime, wake time, sleep duration, and sleep stages (deep, light, REM, awake). We never write to or modify your health data. Sleep metrics necessary to provide the service are stored on our servers.

Manual Entries

If you choose to log sleep manually, we store the bedtime and wake time you provide.

Usage Data

We may collect basic, anonymized analytics about how you interact with the app to improve the experience. This data is not linked to your health information.

How We Use Your Data

  • Calculate sleep scores, streaks, and insights
  • Send optional notifications (sleep reminders, streak updates)
  • Improve and maintain the app

We do not sell your data. We do not use your health data for advertising.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party services for cloud infrastructure, authentication, and subscription management. These services do not have access to your health data except as necessary to provide the app’s core functionality. We do not share your health data with advertisers or data brokers.

Data Storage, Security & Deletion

We take reasonable steps to protect your data. Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us or using the delete account option in the app settings.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Revoke HealthKit or Health Connect permissions at any time through your device settings
  • Opt out of notifications

Children’s Privacy

Yawn is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect once posted to this page.
